So I said this before and I will say it again. One of the best parts of having a close family member that does hair is that she can do it all the time! My cousin Christina has been doing my hair since we were both in high school and over the years it’s been exciting to see her growth. Yesterday she asked me to be he hair model for some natural hair updo styles she was working on and of course I was down.
Being that’s it’s summer and we’re in Texas to top it off updos are the best protective styles to wear during the hottest part of the year. They are easy to wear, no fuss, and protect the hair all at the same time.
For a good updo we always start off with freshly washed hair followed by fully blow drying out the hair.
To keep the hair moisturized and healthy while being pulled up, I like to apply any type of moisturizer and/or oils to avoid dryness.
My night time routine consist of sleeping in a silk or satin bonnet on a silk pillow case.
2nd Look
This look is my favorite because it’s similar to one of Teyonah Parris’s red carpet looks. If you don’t know who that is you should google asap for some great natural hair inspiration.
3rd Look
This style was built around the fish tail braid which is wrapped around another braid on the side.
Hopefully you enjoyed these three easy achievable three natural hair updos perfect for the summer all styled by @xstinathestylist.
