As soon as I seen Taraji P. Henson will be collaborating with MAC Cosmetics I instantly had a proud black girl moment. I mean who doesn’t love her??!! In true #blackgirlmajic form this is another success Henson can add to her already long roster of accomplishments. I’ve been a fan and faithful shopper of MAC for years and I can honestly say this is my favorite collab to date. The picture above says it all. It might not seem like to big deal to some but like many things the beauty industry isn’t as diverse as it should be when it comes to products that are geared to a darker complexion skin tone. When I see this, I know it’s a door opening for more to come.
The line will consist of lipstick, skin finish mineralizers, and mascara. The best part is that the color palette is neutral and a little bronzy which is perfect for every skin tone and great for work and everyday use when you don’t want your make-up to be dramatic and the main focus.
We definitely need more brands to collab with more everyday women who are relatable and inspirational like Henson. You can get the beauty products online September 8th or in select store locations September 8th.
