Day 3
My third day began with breakfast and day of exploration. After catching the subway which was an experience I couldn’t wait for, my friend and I explored some of the city while trying to find a store.
Later we headed to our first blogger’s event hosted by Style Collective where I wore my all red look. I already knew while planning for the trip, an all red look was a must. I’ll have the full look on a later post. Being able to meet other bloggers from all over the U.S. was the best part.
Day 4
This day was EVERYTHING! I got to meet one one of my inspirations for blogging and attended an amazing event to forever remember so lets start at the beginning.
Our first event of the day was held a Banana Republic showcasing Olivia Palermo’s capsule collection. The models cat walked around the store up close and personal followed by a quick meet and greet with Olivia. Super dope! It was like insta fashion. You can buy the clothes in the store right then instead of waiting until the next season. I can definitely see more brands and designers during this.
The highlight: Meeting blogger ColorMeCourtney. Imagine meeting somebody that inspired you to finally do the things you’ve always wanted to do in life. It was that for me. She was super sweet, took plenty of photos, and actually held a conversation with us. I’ve followed her for a few years now but to actually meet her was amazing.
After being extra exhausted and tired, we had to make one more stop. The one and only Carrie Bradshaw’s brownstone. The front was roped off so we couldn’t go inside but just being in the front was surreal. Like I’ve watched every episode several times. Just thinking about the times Mr.Biggs rolled up or her walking down the street to some New York party, it was like I was living in the moment.
Day 5
Some of the girls had shows to attend and since I didn’t I took this time to walk around and enjoy the atmosphere on my own. Of course I had to find the nearest thrift store so I hopped on google and found a Buffalo Exchange 14 minutes away, walking distance. I found so much good stuff I can’t wait to wear and show.
Second Highlight: Adidas hosted a block party in Brooklyn and this event took the cake. Who doens’t love a good party with friends. Now let’s throw in a dope DJ, New York guys with hella style, drinks, and a live crowd. We danced, partied, met people, and lived!!
Day 6
Our last official day for Fashion Week was bittersweet. We attended a fashion show in the main event area by John Ataker. I had the pleasure of seeing Paula Abdul and other influencers in the building.
Our second stop was none other then Mood. If you don’t know, Mood is a fabric store that is seen on Project Runway every season where the designers pick out their fabrics for their looks. I’ve been watching the show for years so to be in the iconic place that has been featured on the show from the beginning was so cool.
We then attended another blogger event, ‘Blogger and the Brand’, then ended the the night with some Bar-B- Q in Times Square and a toast to the amazing trip.
Our last official day was bittersweet. I’ve truly learned so much from the experience and met so many great people while there. New York Fashion Week will definitely be an annual Slaycation.
