What I’ve been up?
Mmm…where do I began? A lot has happened the last few years but to began with the most obvious, I quit blogging. Back when I started, my friends and I were considered bloggers but now the title ‘influencer’ has come to term. I stopped blogging and creating content for many reasons but I don’t want to make this post about that so to sum it up, blogging no longer became fun. I got into it for the love of fashion and beauty but it began to feel more like work and also more about popularity. The cost also began to add up for photographers, clothes, etc and I didn’t see the long term benefits of being a blogger. I would rather invest that money and effort into a business that I can grow rather than an unpredictable platform that doesn’t guarantee returns or long-term stability.
I actually don’t think people even blog anymore. I looked up some of my favorite ‘bloggers’ who were doing it well before me and they don’t have any new post on their website going back a few years. When I started which feels like so long ago now, brands were still paying for blog post. With the rise in social media, people make their money with Instagram and Tik Tok post. Even a lot of YouTubers I use to follow mainly focus on their social media platforms.
So fast forward I launched Miss Bee’s Tees and currently working on a wellness brand that I’m super passionate about.

I got into my fitness and wellness journey and that led me into getting my yoga teaching certification. The 6 month program was nothing short of life changing. I went into the program thinking I was only going to learn about yoga and how to teach it but I did not expect the self development outcome of it all. It was a group of 20 something of us and from day one, it felt like group therapy. The life stories shared and overall experience connected us all to this day.

I think the last couple of years I needed a break for social media and other outside noise to figure out myself and what I wanted in life. I felt lost in the direction I wanted to go with my career and business. I felt stagnant and confused and that’s the worst feeling. I talked it over with friends and close family on what I should be doing next. I knew it had to be more then fashion which is what I went to college for.
My wellness journey created a new passion with a purpose but I didn’t know where to take that. After much time dwelling on the woulda, coulda, shoulda of it all, a new business idea sort of came to me out of nowhere and that need for a purpose finally felt fulfilled. I’m taking my time starting this new venture because I want to do it right. I learned so much when I started Miss Bee’s Tees but also made a lot of mistakes. I’m going about this business in a new and exciting way.
Moving forward, I will be creating more long form written content on my Substack ‘Confessions of a Realist’ so follow me there for more. Also follow me on all my socials. I’ll be posting more consistent on those platforms.
