“Don’t Forget to Fall In Love With Yourself First”
-Carrie Bradshaw
Carrie Bradshaw loved a good flowy and fun look and this dress reminds me of just that.
I’ve always imagined life after college like a good Sex and the City episode. I would have a successful career in fashion or marketing, a great group of friends to complain about men to and shop with at the same time, and a cute little apartment to go to after a long day. Let’s just say I’m still working on all of the above but SATS is great inspiration to keep pushing.
If you’re anything like me, and most women, you know every SATS episode scene by scene. Over the years of watching re-runs after re-runs there’s a few life lessons I’ve picked up a long the way.
Carrie taught us not to feel guilty on spending money on a pair of shoes rather than our phone bill (not saying it’s right… just saying). Samantha taught us how to except our sexuality as women and how as friends we need to support each other without judgement no matter what decisions we make. I think we’ve all had that oversensitive friend like Charlotte who always needed that extra shoulder to cry on and a good hear to listen whether you want to or not. Lastly, Miranda is that career driven, strong women who had to work hard to put her guards down for her friends and to find love.
Always Dress for the Occasion
Whether it was a night out with the girls or a stroll in the park, Carrie always seemed to have the right look on for the occasion.
Relationships Come and Go but Friends are Forever
There was on consistent theme throughout the entire duration of SATS: friendship. No matter what the friends went though between each other and with their own personal relationships with men, they always seemed to come together and use each other for support and a good laugh.
Fashion is a Way of Life
Some people just see clothes as something we wear. SATS taught me that what we wear is a way of life and who we are. It determines what people think of us.
