Our last stop before heading back to Houston was the Hope Outdoor Gallery. I had to make a separate post for this one because I took so many photos and wanted to share them all.
The Hope Outdoor Gallery is a paint park in downtown Austin. The purpose of the gallery is for artist and muralist to display their art on a large scale as well as provide community and class benefits. The cool part was that anybody could go and sign up to paint in the gallery.
Mama Jones is posing for the camera at the entrance.
The park was much bigger than I thought and it was so much to see. I didn’t miss anything!
The gallery was made in levels and the most tiring part was making my up to the top on a steep, dirt hill. Once I finally made it to the top, the view was like no other.
From a distance the walls just look like a bunch of graffiti but up close there is so much art and talent displayed.
As you can see from the amount of pictures I took, the gallery was a sight to see. It was great way to end our trip in Austin.
Lastly I wanted to show this wall I found somewhere downtown. I had to jump out the car and snap a pic.
Overall just like the sight seeing, shopping, and food, Austin did not disappoint. I enjoyed it so much that I wouldn’t mind moving there. I’ve actually been looking into some jobs and some places to work so don’t be surprised if I leave Houston behind and end up in Austin.
